Hyperlinks from any program other than firefox will not open
I am having an issue where no hyperlinks will open in firefox. Thunderbird will show the error below, but no other programs such as discord or open office will show any error or response when clicking on a hyperlink. I was looking through the default programs and settings and the advanced areas in those menus and found the pair of protocol below, which I changed and then changed back with no result.
I have just downloaded chrome and tried to open the links into it, with the same results as firefox.
Chosen solution
OK, yeah, I've got a thunderstorm coming this way.
If it were me, I would uninstall the latest Windows update and see what happens. If things work out OK I would get the update from the Update Catalog.

Just tried IE, doesn't work either
I have also run sfc /scannow, which the first post in that thread was mentioning, which said that there were corrupted files, but it could not fix them. Maybe this is related?
BenNR, Are you familiar with DISM, too?
Modified
I saw that as well on the other thread and just finished running it. It said operation was completed successfully, the links however are still not working.
It's getting late here, so I'm going to call it for tonight, but I will pick this thread back up tomorrow. Thanks for your help tonight. If you have any other ideas, I'll try them all tomorrow. I'll be sure to post if I find the solution.

I ended up simply resetting and updating my computer. everything works fine now. It's a bit of a hassle to reinstall, but so is hyperlinks not working. Thank you for you help.
Hi BenNR,
WoW! That's a lot of trouble to go through.
I'm glad to hear that you're all set.
Hi. I had the same problem and I fixed it without resetting.
1. Open "firefox.exe" file property in Explorer 2. Open "Compatibility" tab -> Check "Run as Administrator".
Hopefully this helps for someone
