Lost password
I forget my Thunderbird password. Consequently, I am unable to uninstall the program so I can reinstall it, Win10 on desktop. I also have it on my laptop, Win 8.1, but it does not require a password. Is there a way to recover the password, or uninstall the program?
Chosen solution
TB has no capacity to reset or change passwords. You'll have to go to your mail provider's website to make a new one, and when you do, delete the old ones in Saved Passwords, restart TB, and enter the new password when prompted.

On the laptop, open Tools/Options/Security/Passwords/Saved Passwords to view the password. On the desktop, enter the password when prompted and check the box to have it stored in Saved Passwords.
Uninstalling and re-installing the program won't matter, as the user data in the separate profile folder is unaffected.
Good try, but I've already tried every way possible. Thanks for tip about the profile.

Remember, I could not uninstall when it was still looking for my password. I finally downloaded and installed again and set it not to require a password and everything is working okay. Go figure.
