I'm using Fire Fox 78.0.2 (64-bit), Windows 10, Webroot Secure Anywhere Complete and my Webroot Web Shield keeps disappearing. I've re-installed Webroot a number of times. This last time I re-installed Webroot was due to my OS, wouldn't allow Webroot icon to be placed in the lower right hand corner on my task bar. Now the Webroot Web Shield isn't displayed under the TABS

This plugin appears to be a Malicious Add-on. Please visit Disable or remove Add-ons and follow the instructions. To find high quality, "safe" extensions, please explore our list of Recommended extensions.

I'm not about to remove the add-on. It has worked perfectly for years. If anything gets removed it would be Fire Fox. I sure it's not a malicious add-on because of how I accessed it. If necessary I download Duck-Duck-Go, or Google. TY!

Hi gmajic, what do you mean by "keeps disappearing"?

Here are three things to check:

(1) Overflow menu

At the right end of the main toolbar there is an icon similar to >> that opens an overflow list of icons that either do not fit on the bar or were pinned to the overflow menu. Any luck finding it there? If so, try right-click > Unpin from Overflow Menu.

(2) Customize tab

If the button was removed from the toolbar, it should be available in the collection of icons on the Customize tab. More info in this article: Customize Firefox controls, buttons and toolbars.

(3) Enabling for Private

If an extension seems to be missing from private windows, make sure it is enabled to run there. Open on the Add-ons page, either:

  • Ctrl+Shift+a (Mac: Command+Shift+a)
  • "3-bar" menu button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
  • type or paste about:addons in the address bar and press Enter/Return

In the left column of the Add-ons page, click Extensions. On the right side, find the "Manage Your Extensions" heading.

The Webroot extension should be listed below. If it doesn't have a purple mask icon next to its name, click the name to open the Details panel, and scroll down to the row where you can Allow the extension in private windows.

Any improvement so far?

TY! This feature is enabled in the ADD-ONS EXTENSION menu; the way I've been getting it back on the tool bar is by disabling it and then re-enabling it. I have 3 PCs with Windows 7/or 10 on them and Fire Fox all the same load on them and this is the only PC that this is happening to.
