Windows 10 reset kept old data but cant find local folders in Thunderbird now
My laptop locked up and I had to reset windows with the keep personal data option. However, upon restart whilst my documents were visible no Thunderbird mail or local accounts were visible and Thunderbird reverted to a new install screen. I restored windows to a previous version a couple of days older which upon restart reinstated my email accounts but without the passwords, however I cannot find my local folders at all? This is a disaster for me.... Can anyone help please? Thanks Adrian

Copy-paste the backup Inbox.sbd to Mail > Local Folder and overwrite the bad copy, then restart Thunderbird.

What are the contents of the Mail > Local Folder location inside your profile folder?
Hi Stans,
Thanks for your reply.
The Mail > Local Folder contains Inbox.sbd Outlook Express Import.sbd Trash.sbd
When I open the Inbox folder I see three of the 50 plus folder names but the properties of each show 0 bytes
However, I have just located what I take to be the missing local folder headed: C:\Do_Not_Delete\backup\Users\Adrian*****\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\sdyd43rw.default\Mail\Local Folders\Inbox.sbd It has the missing folders in. Can I just rename it? Or should I copy and paste it? If so where should it reside?
Thanks again, Adrian

copiez collez sauvegarde Inbox.Sbd dans mail ??? je fais comment ?? merçi car je n 'ai pas compris
I'm very nervous about this. I backed up my entire computer with Paragon Hard Disk Manager v. 14 (no longer supported) to an external drive. Then I made the HUGE mistake of deleting partitions on my C: drive, and I completely lost my Windows 10 operating system. The good news: I have all of my apps on other internal drives D: through F:. The bad news: I had to completely erase my C: drive and reinstall Windows 10 Pro onto it. Then I had to reinstall all of my apps which were on my D: drive so that my new Windows 10 could "see" them. I then installed Paragon v. 17, but am not sure if it can read the v. 14 backup. After two weeks of blood, sweat, tears, and paying for some new license fees, everything is back up and running. I only (?) need to recover about 20 years of Thunderbird email history that WAS on my "LOCAL FOLDERS." So here are my challenges:
1. I have no idea where my old LOCAL FOLDERS was/is. How do I find and recover all of my old email? 2. How do I insure that I never lose my email history again? 3. Is there some way to install Thunderbird on my D: drive instead of the C: drive?
Apologies for the noise.
