Thunderbirds tabs gone just today, no update
I opened two sessions earlier and all tabs were across the top. They have been there for months, usually important emails saved. My last session all tabs were gone, including google calendar, my second tab. I did not update, not since last March. I went into profiles and deleted the session.json... Didn't help. Is there a temporary folder I may find somewhere asap that may have the Thunderbird session I opened earlier or yesterday? Thank you.

If you deleted session.json, instead of renaming it, a new one was created when TB restarted, so the set of open tabs is lost, but now that the session file has been reset, it should retain the set of open tabs at last closing.
Just curious, why wouldn't TBird have defaulted to that session? (session.json) I had probably opened it 1000 times with all tabs there after I learned a long time ago that updates may erase a session. I also always check I don't have 2 windows open because the last one closed will be the next one you open. A mystery. Is there a way to periodically save and name a session? Thanks
I don't know why the session was lost; some apps like CCleaner will reset session.json if one isn't careful. I think a manual backup of the file is the only way to preserve it.
Thanks for all the help. Firefox has at least 3 session managers I know of. Wish I had the knowledge to develop one for TBird.
