Sorting the account lists
Hello, I'm an happy user of Thunderbird since years. I do manage several different professional and personal mail accounts, with several folders in each. Some are used very often, some rarely. The last email account that I've created is important, but it appears last in the list and is not visible. I would like it to be next my default mailbox. How is sorted the list of mail accounts in the leftmost column ? I've seen how to put the "default" one as the upper one, but how can I control the 2nd, third, etc. ? (I'm ready to edit some low-level configuration file, if needed)
Thanks a lot !

There used to be an addon called Manually Sort Folders that offered that functionality. However, that addon no longer works with version 78*.
I would like to assure you that the developers are currently working on creating the functionality you request. Although it was an old bug, in recent weeks it has suddenly seen much activity and so seems to be in the pipeline. Great ! Thanks for the bugzilla link - and my best encouragements for coding it !
Cheers to the team !
There is a manual method:

There is a modified add-on for TB 78:

Hi !
Thanks for the info and the extension seems to solve the problem. I did download it, but how to install it ? It looks "invisible" to the "install from file" option for the extension's settings.
Thanks again,
The file downloaded from the github link is Manually-Sort-Folders.xpi.zip, so you have to remove the .zip before installing. If you just see Manually-Sort-Folders.xpi, then you probably have your system hiding extensions for known file types:

On Windows (10), open the View tab on File Explorer and check 'File name extensions'.
