Hi, I posted previously about this and received a prompt answer to my question (thank you!). However, it did not solve my problem and I was unable to respond directly to that person.

The problem is that I am unable to complete the setup of Thunderbird on my PC (currently running Windows Mail 10) with Spectrum as my ISP/email provider. The error message I am receiving is "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username or password". Since my email and password haven't changed (if they are referring to the Spectrum password), the configuration must be wrong.

The support person suggested the following (verbatim) settings for the manual setup:

Imap: Server: mobile.charter.net Port 993 Security: SSL Username: Spectrum email address Password: Spectrum password

Smtp: Server: mobile.charter.net Port 587 Security: TLS Username: Spectrum email address Password: Spectrum password.

Using the above information, the following is what I typed in to the manual configuration box. Maybe I missed something?

Incoming Server Protocol: IMAP Hostname: mobile.charter.net Port: 993 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: Normal password (Also tried Autodetect) Username: My email address

Outgoing Server Hostname: mobile.charter.net Port: 587 Connection Security: SSL/TLS Authentication Method: Normal password (Also tried Autodetect) Username: My email address

I am still getting the same error message. Any suggestions welcomed and appreciated. Andrew

What is the domain for your account? The correct server depends on your address, e.g. a tampabay.rr.com account should use mail.brighthouse.com.
