Upgrade/install incomplete, folders and mail messages not visible
Recently upgraded to Thunderbird 102.4.1 (64-bit) for Windows 10.
After upgrade, I have the following:
- Even with View All Folders, I can see no folders in my folder pane
- Even if I Go to a specific Inbox, I see no messages in my message pane
- I'm unable to see any messages, in any obvious way
- While "About Thunderbird" shows that I am on the latest release, "More Troubleshooting Information"|"Show Update History" suggests "Install Pending"
Things I have tried:
- Deleting (or, rather, moving to a "deleted" subfolder) the items suggested in https://support.mozilla.org/bm/questions/1281467
- Re-installing Thunderbird
- Rebooting
- Removing MalWare Bytes and similar anti-malware, anti-virus software from the machine

Going through https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1387443 , methodically, since it appears to be the same problem.
However, I see that a new sub-version 102.4.2 is available, so I chose to upgrade. I still have the problem. Now, About Thunderbird offers a "Restart to update Thunderbird" button. Clicking it restarts TB, but the button is still there. And "More Troubleshooting Information"|"Show Update History" doesn't show an update to 102.4.2, at all...and still shows "Install Pending" for 102.4.1.
Created a new profile, as suggested. Magic happened. All worked. (I wasn't sure how to "import" the profile, so I pointed my new profile at the local folders portion of the original profile...kluge-y, of course, and it would be good to know how to do this more properly)
