Focus on Main window
Hi, this is more of a feedback/request than a question except if there's a solution i've overlooked.
When an email is opened in Thunderbird and I go and use another software like a web browser... when i return to Thunderbird by clicking the Thunderbird icon either on a Mac in the dock or start bar in Windows, the main window is invisible. I need to go in Window/Mail & Newsgroup to display the main window. Other software are giving back the focus to the whole app not just the window open. So many times in the day i need to manually display the main window.
Is it possible to have the modification programmed into Thunderbird? That would be wonderful.
See photo, got back to Thunderbird and only the current mail window is open.
Thank you!

Looks like you had Thunderbird open and then chose to Write a new email. That 'Write' window had focus and was on top.
You then used a browser, but do not mention whether you minimised Thunderbird first, so I'm assuming you didn't. So browser had focus on top of all other opened windows.
In Windows when you hover over the icon on bottom toolbar, it pops up all the Thunderbird windows that are currently open as small thumbnail size popups allowing you to select the one you want.
You could use the 'Alt' +'Tab' which in Windows OS allows you to tab through any open windows.
Or right click on icon in bottom Taskbar and select 'Mozilla Thunderbird'
Thank you for your reply. Indeed in Windows one can choose Thunderbird Main Window with the icon at the bottom. I forgot. I mainly work on a Mac and when TB's icon is clicked in the dock, it brings the Main window to focus only if no window is open. While writing an email I have to switch to search other emails, do some browsing... so I have to "manually" call on the main window.
