Recover Private Folders, Contacts
My Windows 10 PC has experienced a Blue Screen error and I can't load Windows. I have been able to access and transfer my perspnal data, but not my applications. So while I have recovered everything else, I need to recover my Thunderbird Private Folders and Contacts. Accessing my data is hard enough when Windows is running (what I view as a major design shortcoming in Thunderbird) but I cannot see how to access it when Windows won't load.
I have been able to set up a new PC with all my data and have reinstalled my applications, but of course the new copy of Thunderbird knows nothing of my Private Folders and Contacts from my old PC. The transfer was done by copying my data from the old PC's SSD to a new PC's SSD. But I can't find a way to copy the thunderbird program with my embedded folders and contacts.
Help please?
(And Developers, please find a better way to store, backup and recover Private Folders, Contacts and other personal data)

If you have access to the old drive, the folders you mentioned should be at the drive's root\users\appdata\roaming\thunderbird\profiles\<profilename> and private folders in the Mail\local folders area. On your suggestion, the Thunderbird folder is stored in the appdata area because Windows recommends that area be for application data files, and version 102 now has built-in ability to export and import profiles.
