I am a Plusnet user who, along with all other members, am about to lose my Waitrose.com address (on an IMAP Server) because it will no lomger be supported by Plusnet.I inherited my Waitrose.com address at the time Plusnet / BT took on Waitrose (and John Lewis) Internet.

My Plusnet address remains, but only for Plusnet membership traffic. They advise me to urgently replace Waitrose.com with my Gmail address - which had been dormant since my difficulty in using my Mobile Phone for certain reasons.

I understand that Gmail will cooperate with my Tbird Ver. 102 (on Win 10 PC), but am asking if I will be able to contain Google in a new alternative Folder system alonside my existing Waitrose History? I really do hope so.

Yes, Thunderbird allows each account to function independently. Separate account settings, separate folders for messages.

Thanks David. Reasuring. Having also tried to assess Outlook.com as an alternative, would your answer (above) still apply? I envisage downloading and installing a Win 10 compatible app for either and integrating it from there (unless I misunderstand)? Is that the case?

I have an unused mobile - which I can keep active - which would presumeably allow me to sign up for the app. Or is this irelevent or unnescessary?

I am comparing both options in more detail at the moment, but in the end would not nescessarily needi to actively use either - unless I choose to.- apart from setup and the Tbird conections. Also true?

You can set up a gmail or outlook account directly in thunderbird without also loading an app. I do not understand your concern on an unused mobile.
