Since Ebay changed their format for auction ads the photos that are part of the ads open as faint negatives that can barely be seen. However, if you right click on one and save to a new tab they are fine.

Chosen solution

Problem solved. Thanks everyone. The extension Dark Mode was the culprit causing the conflict. Is there another way to darken firefox? The bright white pages are hard on my eyes.

I'm on ebay daily and haven't seen any issues. Can you show the issue by posting links and screenshots?

See https://www.ebay.com/itm/115715886364. It is a shadow on my computer but fine on Edge.

Start Firefox in Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration or if userChrome.css/userContent.css is causing the problem.

  • switch to the Default System theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Themes
  • do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Troubleshoot Mode start window

Sounds that this extension uses a filter invert rule that affects images as well.
