Good morning,

My Thunderbird was just upgraded to the latest version (115). After opening it the first time, my inbox folder no longer showed the subfolders for each account. I then dragged a single inbox folder to the inbox, but instead of moving or linking the folder, it wiped everything that was in it. Nothing went to trash, it is just gone. Is there somewhere else I might be able to find these emails? It is an outlook account, and they don't seem to be on that server either. Thank you for any help.

Please help me understand exactly what was done here. You dragged a subfolder of account A from All Folders into the Inbox of account A under Unified Folders?

The unified view has a top level inbox folder. Previously, before the update, that had subfolders for all my inboxes. After the update, it is empty. So, I opened up my hotmail folder (still in the unified folders, I didn't realize that was a thing yet), and dragged it's inbox folder to the toplevel inbox. When I did that, it wiped everything from my hotmail inbox (not into trash or anything, just gone).

Does that help?

Awesome, thank you so much for that! Greatly appreciated.

At this point am I to assume all the old emails are gone?

So to be clear, you had this structure:

Unified Folders - Inbox (unified) -- Inbox for Hotmail account (it wasn't down lower, below all unified folders) - (other unified folders) ... Hotmail account - other hotmail folders

You dragged Hotmail Inbox folder to Inbox (unified) (folder), and Thunderbird let it drop, it didn't block it. I cannot reproduce that.

And in All Mail, hotmail account shows an Inbox? And it is empty?

Please email me the saved clipboard and I will pass it on to a developer. wayne@thunderbird.net Please include the URL to this support question so we have a reference back to the original issue. Thanks.
