I seem unable to type accents in Firefox using Windows XP ALT shortcuts. I've had to use a utility ( http://www.typeaccentpro.com ) which works fine but I would still like to know what the problem is with my Firefox. IE and Google seem OK.

This happened

A few times a week

Make sure that you have Num Lock enabled.
