all addons seem to be disabled and I cannot install new add-ons either.

None of my add-ons seem to be working although when I look at my add-on list they are enabled. Also, I am unable to install a new add-on.

Perhaps you are in Firefox Safe Mode. See Firefox is stuck in Troubleshoot Mode

no, I have rebooted and also checked my shortcut and I don't seem to be in Safe Mode.

Any other ideas?

Which add-ons are not working?

none of them!

When I look at your troubleshooting info, it says that some are disabled while some are not. I just want to make sure you know that there is a separate setting for each add-on. For each add-on, you need to select it and click "Enable".

I'm also saying that because right now, I'm pretty stumped. (Wish I was there to troubleshoot it.) If anyone else ideas, please step in. :-)

thanks for trying to help me, Chris!

I know some are disabled, but the ones I use most are not and they don't work any more. also, I can't select the "settings" for them. Examples are IE Tab and RemoveItPermanently.

Everything was fine until FF updated itself the other day ...

jim5272,

This forum had been updated twice since the end June, some older threads aren't avialable from hyperlinks in old threads. Here is a search of forum postings - https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/search?q=add-ons%2Bnot%2Bworking .

You didn't mention your problem, but see if this helps you:

Try resetting the Extension Manager. With Firefox closed, delete the following files in your Profile folder':
extensions.cache
extensions.ini
extensions.rdf
and
compatibility.ini
They'll be re-created when you open Firefox.

Making sure Firefox closed:
