Exploit issue with plugin-container.exe

more options

I've noticed complaints about plugin-container.exe taking too much memory, and while that may be true, my issue is that almost every time I open Firefox, I'll eventually notice audio playing in the background that has absolutely nothing to do what's on the windows or tabs that I have open. One item sounded like a real estate ad, which has popped up multiple times, while another was a music news program, and I'm pretty sure that at least one other item has also shown up. I tried closing all of the windows, but that didn't solve the problem. I eventually figured out that it was plugin-container.exe when I went into Windows Task Manager and stopped the process, which ended the audio. It's worked every time. Mozilla really needs to fix this issue, because it's unacceptable.

It's me again, and it's happened again, three more times. I've heard ads for Red Lobster, Bud Light, and a cleaning company. I didn't download Firefox so that I can listen to ads in the background while I'm browsing. I'd appreciate it if Mozilla would deal with this issue promptly.

Actually, it's happened more than those three times. Those were just the times that I didn't get a chance to shut it down as soon as the ad began playing.

I am having the same issues..I get several plugin container crashes each day and opt to send the report. The plugin container alone takes up 75 cpu, sometimes 90 making total cpu usage 100%, which makes the system freeze and lag. Everyone is complaining about this new plugin and we can't use any flash required programs on firefox without it..so something needs to change. I see most people say they will just switch to google crome...firefox is going to lose literally millions of customers unless they get this issue resolved. I have loved firefox with all the plugins I use to personalize it like the personas..but if this keeps up..I will also switch to google crome. the fact that it crashes us every day and takes up way too much cpu just is not what any customer wants and it's only obvious that people will have no choice but to go somewhere else. Firefox people...get it together!!!!! There is no reason to force us to use this in order to see anything flash related and if we want to see that stuff..we crash and freeze for it. Fix this now!!!!!!

You can disable the "Plugin Container" somewhat easily, see this: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Plugin-container_and_out-of-process_plugins

disabling the plugin container doesn't give a real solution though because now this plugin is required if you want to see anything flash related on firefox...that would mean no fb games that use it, no CBS, ABC shows we watch online, chatrooms that aren't IRC..anything that needs it. Basically this plugin is forced on its users if we want to continue using the internet as we have. If we choose to disable it...might as well switch to google crome because firefox would be useless and not able to be used...

And look at my screenshot I loaded in the prior message...84 cpu being used on this plugin container in order to watch bachelorette online...making total cpu usage 100%...unacceptable...
