I manage several university computer labs and we use patch management software to update Firefox several times in between creating new images. The problem is that every time we push a Firefox update the "Firefox Updated" page becomes the new default tab instead of our campus homepage. I need to prevent this page from appearing automatically.

You can set the pref browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone to ignore on the about:config page.

See http://kb.mozillazine.org/browser.startup.homepage_override.mstone

You can also lock that pref: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Locking_preferences
