A Java applet (the only one I use) does not refresh properly - the first display seems ok.

I run a java applet called nanogong. I run a number of these applets on the same page. I have just upgraded to FF 3.6.14.

Until the upgrade, all was working properly. Now, the first time the applet is called it displays properly. If I refresh the page (ctrl-F5 - or Shift-Refresh) , some instances of the applet on the page display properly while others simply show only an outline of the applet.

Mozilla are aware of the issue involving Java applets in Firefox 3.6.14 and are working on a fix, no timescale but they are planning on a quick release. They already have a fix for this and are currently creating the new version. It will then undergo testing to ensure the fix is working prior to general release.
