how can I upload back to Firefox 3? I don't like Firfox 4! It doesn't save my tabs and the tab bar is in a stupid place now!

Firefox 4 does not save my tabs, as it used to do in Firefox 3.5. Which I did not know until I closed Firefox and discovered NO tabs were saved when I closed!! The new location of the tab menu is stupid. Why move it to the top when it is not close to the page you are looking at? The eye does not go to the top of the whole menu bar, but to the top of the page one is working on. I would rather use 3.5 or no Firefox at all. I have sent a message about this before, but have received NO response.

Firefox now always stores the old session, and you can access it by going to the History menu and selecting "Restore Previous Session"

If you want Firefox to display the message to save the session, it can be turned back on by changing some preferences.

  1. Type about:config into the location bar and press enter
  2. Accept the warning message that appears, you will be taken to a list of preferences
  3. Locate the preference browser.tabs.warnOnClose, if its value is set to false, double-click on it to change its value to true
  4. Repeat this for these 3 preferences browser.warnOnQuit, browser.warnOnRestart and browser.showQuitWarning

If you always open the last set of tabs, an alternative approach is this:

  1. Open the Firefox Preferences dialog
  2. Go to the General panel
  3. Change the setting "When Firefox starts" to "Show my windows and tabs from last time"

If you do not want tabs on top you can change it, right-click on a toolbar and click on the "Tabs on Top" entry to de-select it.

If you want to revert to an old version, it is better to use Firefox 3.6, available from http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html

I found the same things bothering me. Instead of conforming to a new way I found the following link allowing me to dl any version of firefox. Simply choose the version you are most comfortable with from the menu on the left and then dl as usual. http://www.oldapps.com/firefox.php?old_firefox=6
