My ctrl button doesn't work with other keys
Hello: I am unable to use the ctrl+t (open new tab), ctrl+c or ctrl+v (copy/paste) among other ctrl commands while using firefox. I know that the ctrl key itself is not broken as I am able to use the ctrl+backspace and ctrl+forward (return to last page viewed) functions.
Many of the help sites I've seen focus on uninstalling the ask.com toolbar. I uninstalled ask.com toolbar once, and the ctrl key started working again. The problem came back within a week, however, and ask.com is not a factor anymore as it has already been uninstalled. What else can I do to fix this problem? Any advice would be appreciated.
I have already tried restarting firefox in safe mode, and this did not solve the problem.

I wonder whether your keys work differently than mine? For me, back and forward use the Alt key rather than the Ctrl key. ???
Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Restarting firefox in safe mode does not work for me. I stated that in my initial post. Do you have any other suggestions?
Try a new Profile.

Hi - I tried creating a new profile but that didn't work either...
