Firefox settings, bookmarks, extensions lost when system restarts

more options

Each time I restart my computer (but not when the computer remains running and I close and restart firefox), all of my extensions, settings, and changes to my bookmarks are lost. This has been happening for a while, and I finally got around to looking at why these things aren't loaded (I work from home on occasion, so I usually leave the system on for a week or so at a time). Turns out they aren't saving in my profiles folder or in the extensions folder in the firefox directory. I have full admin permissions. However the fact that the settings and extensions remain until the computer restarts tells me that they must be saved somewhere. If someone can tell me how to fix this I will be very grateful

Thanks for the info. I knew that the info was saved in the User directory, that's what I was referring to when I said that it wasn't saving to the profile, which is stored there. I did not set that to clear on reboot, but it might have been set that way by some program or other. Thanks for the tip about the portable version, I will give it a try. If you could tell me how to remove the clear on reboot setting, that would also be helpful.
