To make sure that Firefox has password saving enabled:

1. Go to: Firefox > Options > Security or Tools > Options > Security

2. Make sure that the 'Remember paswords for sites' box is checked and if you want to use a master password, check that box too

3. Click 'OK'

problem is with Hotmail login. have tried Gmail - works perfectly
