I have my on line banking as a tab on my home page. If I open it I have to enter my username and password every time. Firefox does not save it and I have no key icon when I access the website on the toolbar. How come?

Make sure that you do not run Firefox in permanent Private Browsing mode.

  • You enter Private Browsing mode if you select: Tools > Options > Privacy > History: Firefox will: "Never Remember History"
  • To see all History and Cookie settings, choose: Tools > Options > Privacy, choose the setting Firefox will: Use custom settings for history
  • Deselect: [ ] "Permanent Private Browsing mode"

The website may be using autocomplete=off to prevent Firefox from saving the name and password. You can remove autocomplete=off with a bookmarklet to make Firefox save the name and password.
