how can i adjust the downloads window ,which is blank after downloading a file? [my installed plug-ins differ from the guess]

a forum user cor-el [?]kindly supplied me with the answer to this question, but i cannot locate it, and want to use the solution in another firefox installation on a different computer.

installed plug-ins not disabled:

shockwave flash 10.3.183.10/10.3r183; java platform se6u24/6.0.240.7; mozilla default plug-in 1.00.15

these extensions are not disabled: java platform 6.0.24; google toolbar for firefox; symantic IPS 3.1

hello, and thanks for the suggestion. none of the references you list or "the search for solutions" address the the issue of a blank downloads window after i download a file or web page.

the "save files to" option does not provide an option to have all downloads appear in the downloads window, so it doesn't go to a blank windows.

any other suggestions?
