I agree with dmcritchie and Vivek.Wilfred. This really is a scam. Firefox is free software (free as in free beer). Do not pay money for firefox!!!

Firefox is free, sounds like a scam, they are probably after your card number, pin number, and identity information and may not even collect the $5, but might check your balance and transfer all or most of it. Contact your bank or entity listed on back of card.

Download Firefox from http://www.mozilla.com

Are you kidding me ? What is going on here? Martin

hi,

dmcritchie is right. Firefox and other Mozilla software is always free.

You should also immediately change the PIN. Contact your bank and suspend all credit card transactions until expert advice from authorities. Report the site to the local cyber crimes cell. Check credit card statements. Also get the PC checked or formatted and reinstalled.

hi Martin,

Nice to know that. But then why the $5? No legitimate site will request that or any money for Mozilla software. The situation is that you may have unwittingly provided an unknown site and it's operators with your credit card number, PIN, CVV and personal info.

Credit cards are safer to use than Debit (Bank) cards as you are less likely to actually lose your own money.

The other scam possibilities are to download a virus, which may or may not be stopped by your system, and it might even be just to get your email address.

Anyway by having marked as "solved" I think you understand the dangers more clearly now.
