I cannot do anything with the top 20% of the active page, example if I scrolr this up to the highest point in this page I cannot do anything with the mouse, I can still type but the mouse is an arrow and will not change to a hand or even select the cursor there. tried in IE and the problem is not there.

That problem can be caused by the Yahoo! Toolbar that extents too much downwards and covers the top part of the browser window and thus makes links and buttons in that part of the screen not clickable.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

i did what cor-el said by starting up Firefox in safe mode and then ticked the first box to stop all add-on. Seems to work as I can now get to all at the top as there is no more extra tool bars.

Thanks cor-el for this tip.

Cor-el! Oh my God! You can't imagine how glad i am for this solution! I even registered just to leave a comment and thank you!

I've been trying to guess if it had something to do with the flash player or the java console.

This problem caused me to be unable to log out of eBay, my online bank account and other sites which display the "logout" near the top of the page. My solution was to just disable the Yahoo toolbar using the VIEW function, I can't remember ever using the Yahoo toolbar anyway.
