When I download an attachment from Yahoo.com, why can't I move it to a file folder?

I am receiving an attachment through an email and when I download it, Firefox will ask how I want to open it. It doesn't matter where I send it, it either won't open or it won't show up where I send it. I have contacted Yahoo! about it to see if they can fix it, because I thought it was happening from Yahoo! to Windows, but it turns out that Firefox will download it and ask where I want it to go and then sometimes it will extract it and I lose it, or it won't extract it at all, but it won't send it to the file folder either. A window will show that it has been downloaded, but I can't retrieve it from there or anywhere else except Yahoo! and when I download it again, it stays in the download window with the same results as before.

Chosen solution

Is "Open" or "Open Containing Folder" grayed if you right-click such a downloaded attachment in the Download Manager window (Firefox?/Tools > Downloads)?

If that is the case then the file didn't come trough and may have been removed by anti-virus software

It is possible that your anti-virus software is corrupting the downloaded files or otherwise interfering with downloading files by Firefox. Try to disable the real-time (live) scanning of files in your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes downloading work.
