How can i reduce the volume for firefox ALONE, and not other apps (even better if i can reduce the volume for each site individually) - and please don't tell me to use the mixer on my windows volume control, it only works on all apps simultaneously!??
Firefox is a stand alone app - it should have its own volume control (preferably for each site individually). Thanks

Hi gumpa,
Take a look at the article What to do if Firefox won't play any sounds. There is some good information in there that will show you how you can change the volume or mute just Firefox.
Hopefully this helps!
i am using Windows XP Home - your suggestion is only good for vista or w7
You can't do that on Windows XP. On Windows XP you can only set a global volume setting for all programs. Vista and later Windows versions allow to set the volume level for each program individual.
So you're out of luck with your current setup.
Some media players allow to adjust the volume level, so you can check if the player does have a volume icon.
well... that answered the question, but sadly doesn't help - hopefully the next version of Firefox will have its own volume control, if not for every site, then for every tab, or at least every window.
Windows XP doesn't support that feature in its volume control, so each plugin would have to do that individually in that case. Firefox doesn't have control over what a plugin does with a media file (a plugin is third-party software), so that can't be added by the Firefox devs.
if it's all about plug-ins, then Firefox can make its own plug-in to control the volume of other plug-ins.
