Chosen solution

Try this:

1. Navigate to: %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\

2. Open your default folder

3. Delete or move to other folder the file: mimeTypes.rdf

4. Start Firefox backup again

5. Open the link again it will ask you to associate to a program

6. Select your torrent program

Please reply if works.

It's a file which will remember all programs associated with firefox, so if you remove it you will clean all associations, being able to do the association again.
