In fox 15.0, how do I easily put my bookmarks in alpha order, everything I see in help is too old?

II want help in being able to easily put by bookmarks in alphabetical order. i don't have any folders, just a long list of bookmarks. I'm a novice at computerese, so i need very simple step by step directions.

I looked at the help section for this problem but what i found was for older versions of Firefox, lots of threads that were closed and references to addons that are no longer available. i have Firefox 15.0 at the moment. Have a PC, not Mac and have Vista as operating system.

Chosen solution

Things will be easier to find if you do create some folders to categorize them.

To sort in alphabetical order of name, open the bookmarks window with "Show All Bookmarks" from the bookmarks menu, in the toolbar, choose Views > Sort > Sort by Name, then A > Z for ascending order or Z > A for descending order. You can also arrange bookmarks in whatever order you want by dragging and dropping them in that window.

Thank you. Before getting your reply, I found a very slightly different way of doing it. Didn't think my way worked at first because it didn't happen as quickly as I thought it would, but after closing and reopening FF I found that they were in ascending order.

Sorting via the Views menu in the Library only shows the bookmarks in the chosen sort order and doesn't change them permanently (hence the Views name of that menu).
Clicking on the header does the same.
If you want to sort bookmarks then you need to right-click a folder and use "Sort By Name" to sort that folder.
You can't sort individual bookmarks, only folder can be sorted that way.
