This morning, Firefox updated to the latest version (I am using windows 7). Upon restarting, the program is almost completely non-functional. Here is a partial list of the issues I am having:

- Displays a blank page instead of my home page - Entering a URL into the address bar and pressing enter has no effect - Most items in the help menu (about firefox , restart with add-ons disabled, etc), nothing happens upon clicking them - None of the items in the Tools menu work (clicking on anything has no effect) - New tabs can not be opened - Opened tabs can not be closed

In essence, the program will start but is completely non-functional. Prior to this update Firefox performed normally.

I have already tried the following, steps none of which helped the problem:

- Restarting my computer - Uninstalling and then reinstalling Firefox (complete uninstallation including all my personal settings) - Uninstalling and then reinstalling an older version of Firefox (same problems arise) - Resetting Firefox by pressing shift when clicking on the program to start it

Hello derekjacks, try to boot the computer in Windows Safe mode with network support (press F8 on the boot screen) and check firefox again.

(If works in Windows Safe mode maybe exist an issue with other software, like security software or maybe a system driver, that is running on your computer)

thank you

Thanks for your reply. The problem appears to be solved now. Before trying your method, I uninstalled firefox as I tried before but this time I deleted all the firefox folders on my computer that were left behind after the uninstall. Then I reinstalled firefox and now it seems so far to be normal.
