With latest update why can I no longer open more than one instance of Firefox?
I typically have at least two instances of Firefox running on two separate monitors. I open the first instance from the tool tray. Subsequent instances are started by double-clicking a Firefox shortcut on my desktop. Since Firefox updated automatically overnight I can no longer get more than one to open. I see the problem mentioned previously on 11/25/13. I tried the SafeMode suggestion with no luck.

After submitting my question I restarted (again). This time it fixed the problem. Gremlins I guess. For reference: Yes, double-clicking just made the current window active. No new tabs. Same results in Safe Mode. Target now shows as you describe. Didn't look when having the problem. I incorrectly called the task bar the tool tray. Seems to be fine now though. Thanks for the quick response.

When you double-click the desktop icon, what happens — the existing window is made active rather than a new window opening? Or a new tab opens in the existing window rather than a new window?
And when you started Firefox in Safe Mode and tried the same test, you got the same result?
If you check the "Target" in your Firefox shortcut, does it have any extra parameters? right-click > Properties > Shortcut tab
For Windows 7 64-bit, here's what I'd normally expect to see:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe"
Not sure whether your tool tray icon can be checked in the same manner. What is the tool tray, actually?
