Tabbed browsing not working
If I add a web address to the browser bar it does not navigate to the website specified. If I click on one of the saved tabs on my browser bar, it does go the the site. Can't really navigate like this. Have not a clue what is going on.
Chosen solution
Hi. I think I may have solved my own problem. It seems I had a google toolbar which was not compatable with the updated version of Firefox and it had been dissabled. I have now removed it from my computer and the system is working again. It seemed the browser bar was not working as, besides the URL that was in the bar, nothing else showed up. I now know why. Thanks for the rapid response, though. I did not know the toolbar was going to be dissabled when I updated Firefox. Had to find out the hard way. Thanks again John Morris.

Are you talking about using the location bar or about the Bookmarks Toolbar or something else to open a link (URL)?

Hi again. This is in addition to my earlier problem. The old problem is solved, rather laboriously, by clearing the cache in FF then the bar and tabs work. That is on my other computer which has not had the new version of FF downloaded to it. This time I am on a laptop and yesterday the system downloaded a new version of FF. The same problem is now evident, if I go to the bar, click to reveal the dropdown of sites, click on any site, the page does not change, just keeps showing the original page I was on before going to the drop down bar. Also, if I click on a "+" to open a new tab, nothing happens. What is going on. I tried to clear the cache on this machine as well but, this time, the problem has not gone away. Please help. Thanks
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
- Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.
