Firefox stalls or crashes when I choose Clear Recent History and click on Clear Now
In the past when I wanted to clear recent history, the feature worked flawlessly. Now Firefox either crashes or it takes almost a minute for the clearing to occur. In the past it took barely a second.

Clearing huge history may take some time and making the browser not responding. Anyway crashing is not normal. Try with a new profile (Windows+R > firefox.exe -P) and make test. If that works, follow http://kb.mozillazine.org/Transferring_data_to_a_new_profile_-_Firefox to back your profile up.
