There are two add-ons - (i) AVG Safeguard toolbar and (ii) Skype Click to Call that do not delete, disabled in Add-ons Manager, however, they do not present a 'Remove' button, hence they remain unless a fresh set up of Firefox is made. Moreover, while homepages remain stable, new tab is 'hijacked' by AVG Safe Search, a 'revert to new tab' button is there, however, that requires a browser restart, then the same 'AVG Safe Search' new tab persists for several days restart....we get free of this eventually.

                        With kind regards,
                                                          happy Whitsun,

hello, please remove those two programs through the windows control panel...

Thank you Phillip. Yes an AVG toolbar removes as described in your solution. However, although Skype Click to Call removes with windows control panel, this remains un-removed from the browser. On the browser without a 'remove' button this seems untouchable.
