When I use my book mark menus they closs too early for me to select a bookmark

I have quite a lot of bookmarks and when I open a bookmark menu and move the mouse pointer to select a bookmark it frequently closes before I can make the selection.

Are you opening the side bar, or the Main Bookmarks Manager?

Press the Alt or F10 key to bring up the tool bar. Then select Bookmarks. Hot key is <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> B.
