When I had Thunderbird before resetting my computer, I could see my Yahoo folders, but now I can't. The answers here imply that I need an IMAP connection to do that, and Yahoo charges $10 for a gadget to translate their (apparently) weird version of IMAP to one that other clients can use. But I didn't have this before, so I shouldn't need it now. Basic question: how do I see my Yahoo folders on Thunderbird?

I am not sure what you have been reading or where, but yahoo IMAP is just IMAP. Thunderbird has the IMAP settings for yahoo, all you have to do is select the account type of IMAP in the wizard.

I went to Account Options to change to IMAP, but there wasn't an option to do it. Under Account Settings => Server Setting, it just says Server Type POP Mail Server, and there's no option to change it. So I uninstalled and reinstalled, and it's still the same. Any tips on how to get an IMAP option?
