How can I keep this location sharing popup from appearing?
I want it to STOP asking me! The instructions on how to remove it are not helpful : /
Chosen solution
If you never want Firefox to share your location with any websites, there are two ways to set that. You can use whichever one seems easier.
Permissions page
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:permissions in the address bar and press Enter.
(2) On the right side, the heading should be Default Permissions for All Sites. If it doesn't say that, on the left side, click All Sites (which should appear below the box that says Search Sites).
(3) Under Share Location change the drop-down from "Always Ask" to "Block"
That's it, you can close this tab.
Configuration Editor
(1) In a new tab, type or paste about:config in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the search box above the list, type or paste geo and pause while the list is filtered
(3) Double-click the geo.enabled preference to switch it from true to false. It should turn bold.
That's it, you can close this tab.
If Firefox forgets this change the next time you start it up, check out this article for possible reasons: How to fix preferences that won't save.
Edit: fixed typo in geo.enabled
