In Thunderbird how can I Copy (or save) an unsent email to a folder?
In Outlook Express there was a function called "Copy to" which allowed me to file an unsent email to a folder. The only way I have found to accomplish this in Thunderbird is to first save it (to the Drafts folder) and them use the File button to move it to the folder of my choice. Is there any way in T-Bird to do this with one step instead of two?

I use save as file from the menu.

I guess I was not completely clear. I am trying to save an unsent email to a folder in Thunderbird in one step. That cannot be accomplished with the save as function.
So your asking for multiple drafts folders? Your the first I have heard of that wanted more than one.

This has nothing to do with multiple draft folders - it has to do with named email folders. I want to be able to save an unsent email to a named email folder without having to first save it to the Drafts folder. In Outlook Express, there was a "Copy To" function in the drop down file menu of the open email that allowed this to be done. I cannot find the "Copy To" function except in already sent or received emails or for unsent emails already saved in the Drafts folder.
When I right-click a message in the 'Drafts' folder I do have a 'Copy To' item in the context menu.

I know this. I want to avoid the extra step of saving to the Drafts folder by saving or copying an unsent email directly to a named email folder.
If you exit Thunderbird without saving a message being composed, it will offer to save the message for you, and will put it in the Outbox if you agree. The next time you start up Tbird, it will ask to send out the message in the Outbox.

That is not relevant to what I am asking.
I will call it. You can not have what you want.
There is an add-on that autosaves drafts to a folder that is separate from the normal location:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/auto-save-drafts-folders/
but it would have to be the same folder for all messages.
Well thanks for everyone's help. I agree with Matt, there is no way to do what I want without first saving to Drafts and then copying to the folder I want it to be in. I think Firefox should fix this though.
I totally fail to see a use case for what your asking, that might be why it does not exist. What would you use it for?
