I have a box at the bottom of my page when I open a new tab with non wanted adds
Since the latest Firefox update when I open new tabs I have a box at the bottom of the page that has an x in the top right corner, it says to update Java, when I click to open new tabs I have unwanted boxes with adds. Do I have a virus on my computer now. I have never had this before the latest update to Firefox. How do I get rid of these unwanted adds and the box at the bottom of my page

hi lisabs4, this sounds like a problem with adware that is active on your system, so please perform all these steps:
- reset firefox (this will keep your bookmarks and passwords)
- afterwards go to the firefox menu ≡ > addons > extensions and in case there are still extensions listed there, disable them.
- finally run a full scan of your system with different security tools like the free version of malwarebytes and adwcleaner to make sure that adware isn't present in other places of your system as well.
Adblock Plus {web link} Blocks annoying video ads on YouTube, Facebook ads, banners and much more. Adblock Plus blocks all annoying ads, and supports websites by not blocking unobtrusive ads by default (configurable).
