Chosen solution

It is working perfectly ok in TB 31.5.0.

So confirm: In Thunderbird 'Tools' > 'Add-ons' OR 'Menu icon' > 'Add-ons' Under Extensions ImportExportTools 3.1 is not listed.

Use a browser, Go to this link and download the .xpi file to your desktop or downloads folder.

In Thunderbird 'Tools' > 'Add-ons' OR 'Menu icon' > 'Add-ons' in the 'Add-ons Manager' tab click on the gear wheel icon and select 'Install addon from file' Locate the .xpi file you just downloaded and click on 'Open'. see image below. You may need to restart Thunderbird,

did you use these instructions? http://chrisramsden.vfast.co.uk/3_How_to_install_Add-ons_in_Thunderbird.html

Because seriously I think you tried to install it in Firefox where is is incompatible.

I read what you sent and I redid my install making sure I was in Thunderbird. It still said it was not compatible with Thunderbird 31.5.0. Thanks for trying.
