I have 2 gmail accounts- one in Outlook 2007 and one I access from gmail directly. The messages from gmail transfered fine. The messages on Outlook did not. Today, I went through and deleted many of the old email messages on both accounts, emptied the trash, restarted the computer, open ed thunderbird and hit "get messages". All the old messages are still present. How do I sync the messages to update? How to I get the messages on Outlook?

Chosen solution

You could set up Thunderbird on the old computer and transfer the files to that, then copy them to the new computer. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/moving-thunderbird-data-to-a-new-computer
