New installation of Firefox (36.04) creates issues with Java or Javascript on both Facebook and Google Apps. Have tried updating and re-installing Java, no good. Help please!

Please describe your issue better. What is it that is not working?

I solved it. Apparently that particular release automatically disabled Javascript. As you are surely aware, to fix that involves a somewhat convoluted process of opening a new tab, entering something cryptic, affirming that you'll be safe, and then switching enable Javascript to True.

(The problem is/was, that loading Facebook or Google Apps resulted in a message saying they needed Javascript to be enabled (or something similar).

I'm sorry for the alarm-sounding, but this occurred on three separate machines! I have to believe that many other people have experienced this today. Thank you for your prompt response.

That was very good work. Well Done. Please flag your last post as Solved Problem so other will know.

JavaScript which is built in Firefox should still be enabled in any version by default. It is the completely separate Java Plugin that may be disabled especially if using a older version.

Extensions like NoScript may have JavaScript disabled.

Problem is it was only kind of a solution as JavaScript is still enabled in recent Releases like 36.0.4, 37.0 and current 37.0.1
