I already checked that. I've been trying all the suggestions I've seen. Trying NOT to reinstall, but I'm guessing that's next. NOTHING is checked on the Compatibility tab
Hi FF RSC, this is why cor-el and I suggested opening a new question. You do not have the same problem as the poster of this thread.
Please continue here:
Is this the crash report you are looking for?

Hi briansmyrealty, there should be long strings of letters and numbers starting with bp- for each crash report. They can be found either on the about:crashes page or in individual files. The last section of the support article "Troubleshoot Firefox crashes (closing or quitting unexpectedly)" has the steps for tracking them down.
I haven't done anything but for some reason it seems to be working properly. I've tried it several times and it's worked flawlessly. I'm happy. If it comes back I will be in touch. Thanks again for trying to help me. Regards Brian
Haven't had time to uninstall and reinstall BUT did some more checking. If I log in as my Admin account and go into Firefox the search works! Doesn't that indicate it's a profile problem? The reset didn't work so what should I try?
Hi FF RSC, please continue in your new thread as we are up to 3 pages in this one and it's getting confusing with your posts mixed with Brian's here.
i Haven't had time to un/re install Firefox BUT I did some more checking. when I log into my admin account the search works. That should indicate a profile problem, correct? I did the reset and that didn't work. What should I try? Can I copy profile files from the working to the non? If yes, which ones should be copied?
A reset keeps the cookies. If clearing cookies didn't help then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies got corrupted.
- Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and if present delete cookies.sqlite-shm and cookies.sqlite-wal in the Firefox profile folder in case cookies.sqlite got corrupted.
You can remove all data stored in Firefox from a specific domain via "Forget About This Site" in the right-click context menu of an history entry ("History > Show All History" or "View > Sidebar > History") or via the about:permissions page.
Using "Forget About This Site" will remove all data stored in Firefox from that domain like bookmarks, cookies, passwords, cache, history, and exceptions, so be cautious and if you have a password or other data from that domain that you do not want to lose then make sure to backup this data or make a note.
You can't recover from this 'forget' unless you have a backup of the involved files.
It doesn't have any lasting effect, so if you revisit such a 'forgotten' website then data from that website will be saved once again.
