Since Ver. 30 Firefox won't recogize and use DjVu. Downloads it and other browsers can use it. When will you fix?

Since Version 30, Firefox won't recognize and allow use of DjVu. I tried ver. 38.0.5 today with the same results. It downloads and apparently installs it, but does not recognize it. There is no red box for an updated version as help files say there should be. It is presumably downloading the latest version. This is essential for the most important work I do and if it is not available on Firefox will have to use other browsers. I and others seem to have been asking this question for some time. Do you intend to fix it? I've tried this on other computers (today) that I use regularly and do NOT want this computer messed with in some attempt to blame it on my computer. It is working with Version 29 although it would not on my laptop. I can not update Firefox and use it and DO NOT WANT IT UPDATED REMOTELY under the present circumstances.

I see the DjVu browser plugin in the System Details list, so Firefox does find it.

You can check on the about:plugins page what file type the plugin supports.

You can try to rename (or delete) the mimeTypes.rdf file in the Firefox profile folder to reset all file actions.

This did not solve the problem. I don't have the latest version of Firefox installed, since it can not see DjVu, so the fact that DjVu is on the computer is irrelevant to the problem of upgrading Firefox. I've tried it on other computers with versions since 29 including the latest 38.0.5, yesterday. DjVu installs on the computer but Firefox can not see it and it can not be used if Firefox is the browser being used, as I said before. I thought this forum was addressed by people, not robots. You should not be able to see what else is on my computer. What happened to the Bugzilla link on the web site?

What is the setting of the plugin?

Does using "Always Activate" instead of "Ask to Activate" make a difference?

Do you see the Lego block icon on the at the left end of the location/address bar to show that Firefox is detecting that the plugin is used?

As I said before, Firefox does not SEE or SHOW DjVu as an Add-on/Plug-in even though IT was the browser in use to download and install DjVu. Thus there is NO "Always Activate" or "Ask to Activate". I'm not sure what you mean about a "Lego block icon". The post-installation test fails and documents can't be opened, but they can be opened in IE or Chrome.

Your System Details list shows the DjVu browser plugin, so Firefox is definitely finding it:

   Google Update
   Shockwave Flash 16.0 r0
Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 11.0.10
   DjVu browser plugin
   5.1.20913.0
   NPWLPG
The plug-in allows you to open and edit files using Microsoft Office applications
Office Authorization plug-in for NPAPI browsers
   CANON iMAGE GATEWAY Mycamera Plugin

How many times do I have to repeat this? I have tested newer versions of Firefox on other computers. They can't recognize DjVu. I won't update Firefox on THIS computer under the circumstances, so all of your references to what is on this computer now are irrelevant. I want to know hen they are going to fix the bug that prevents Firefox from seeing DjVu in versions 30.0 and up. Apparently no human is reading this so my only option is to remove Firefox entirely.

I have been using DJVu document viewer to view Planning Dept scanned documents for about 9 months all without difficulty until recently. I used Firefox with Google as the default search engine and it worked without a hitch for everything until this week. Google no longer support DJVu and the Planning Dept suggest using Firefox or Internet Explorer. I don't like IE as I had many problems with it when I last used it. I thought I was fine with Firefox until it did not work today and I realised it was because the default search engine it set to Google. I checked Add-Ons but could not find a specific Firefox search engine. Is there one?

Can anyone suggest a good search engine for Firefox that will work with DJVu Viewer.
