You guys treat your users like idiots, and I don't appreciate it-I can set my homepage to Google, but I can't set my "+" new tab to open on my home page? REALLY??
Say what you want, but this is corporate manipulation in the infancy of the Internet, as stupid as was the hype of snake oil salesmen in the infancy of American marketing, back in the 1800's.
Sure, I can easily set my Home Page in "Options." But if I click on the new tab "+," YOUR choice of pages comes up. And since you don't provide the OBVIOUS OPTION OF BEING ABLE TO SELECT THE HOME PAGE AS THE PAGE OF A NEW TAB, BUT, RATHER, REQUIRING SOME COMPLICATED PROCEDURE FOR SETTING THE NEW TAB, most people will just leave it the way it is, and you win, driving people to THAT site.
You guys really suck for doing that. And most people just go along with it, playing this game of telling each other, in forums, to insert "something.somethingelse.url.whatever" in some address field to change the new tab page, most of 'em getting it wrong because it wasn't clear and straightforward (by design) to begin with..
I DON'T KNOW about ".url" settings on different pages- no one has a clear explanation for what to do to reset the new tab to, and Mozilla, on other areas of this site, in responding to others who ask about this, YOU refer users to an ***ARTICLE*** on how to set your new tabs to your home page?!? ARE YOU F-ING KIDDING ME?? AN ARTICLE????? FOR SETTING THE PAGE OF YOUR NEW TAB??
REALLY???
Why not just have a single clickable option TO, OH, I DON'T KNOW, TO JUST MAYBE, JUST ON A WACKY WHIM, to set it to one of two things: 1. your home page, or 2. a page you specify by typing in a field, JUST LIKE THE OPTION FOR SETTING THE HOME PAGE.
SIMPLE- IT SHOULD BE THAT EASY, AND IT SHOULD BE IN THE GENERAL OPTIONS.
But for now, we have to play your game. so, PLEASE, what is the EASIEST way to set my new tab to my home page while it is still not a general option??

Good evening,
if I understand your question, you have a problem with setting the home page at a new tab? This option can be set in general options. You move to Tools --> Options. There, you can set the URL. If you still does not work, reinstall Firefox.
NOTE: Omit please profanity.
Thank you for understanding.
