I keep getting a message that firefox can not determine if it is the latest version. It has not updated in the past year. I have to go to your website and download the current versions. I am set for auto but it is not working. I can not remove the super optimizer program that was attached to your download. How can I get rid of it? No matter what I do it is still on my computer.

hello, could you go to the firefox menu ≡ > help ? > troubleshooting information, copy the contents of that page and paste them here into a reply on the forum? this might give us a clue what is going on...

The System Detail list shows a Firefox 40 version. The current Firefox release for Windows is Firefox 40.0.2

You can find the version information in the Application section of the Help > Troubleshooting Information page (about:support).

You can check via "Help > About" if there is an updated offered.

No version of Firefox for Windows, Mac OSX or Linux from mozilla.org comes with anything related to super optimizer.

You likely already had it installed on computer by something else at some point and if you see it in Firefox it was not due to Firefox coming with it.

Download sites like download .com aka cnet is a known adware site as they use their own installer to bundle stuff with otherwise clean software.
