When I move a message to a sub-folder, I still see it in my inbox. By moving to a folder, I would like the message saved in the new folder and removed from the inbox. How can I set Thunderbird to do this?

User error!! I discovered I was looking at "All Mail" instead of inbox. Don't I feel stupid!! Thank you for your replies.

Are you sure you used 'Move' and not 'Copy'?

Yes, I am sure. I've used Thunderbird on other computers and am familiar with the "move" vs "copy" functions. I'm wondering if there is something I've checked or not checked in the "options" area.

Is it POP or IMAP? In settings did you tick 'Leave messages on server'?
