How do I get Thunderbird to work with Windows 10?

Since I installed Win 10, TB takes 2 min. to send a msg out. Also when I click on links in my email to go to the internet, Mediaupdate_wm41.com interrupts and tells me I need to download a new video player. When I try to do that download, it gets interrupted and the Run window never does open. Is win 10 stopping this procedure?

I read several help solutions and tried the SAFE MODE, but nothing was fixed. Yes, I have the latest version of TB. HELP PLEASE!
