I am trying to switch from ATT to Thunderbird email. My computer store set up Thunderbird for me. It has downloaded old email from 2013 and 2014 and January 2015. I have deleted all old email and emptied the trash. But it is stuck on email from 1-25-15. It has downloaded the same email 6 times and will not go any farther. What can I try to get it unstuck? Thanks.

If this is a POP mail account: As the email has downloaded several times, I'm assuming you have the option 'Keep messages on server' selected in the Account Settings.

Logon to the webmail account. It would seem an email is causing a log jam, it could be the one that keeps being downloaded or the next one on the server that has not been downloaded. To see if this is the issue : -

In webmail, Move the email that keeps downloading into another folder. Then in Thunderbird try to 'Get Messages'.
